About this grant
The Flint Cultural Center Corporation provides arts, culture, history, science, and educational programming through its member organizations Sloan Museum/Longway Planetarium and The Whiting. The grantee is also responsible for maintaining the 33-acre Flint Cultural Center campus. Approximately 175,000 students and adults will attend or participate in a variety of cultural, educational, and instructional programs and activities at these cultural center organizations this year. In addition to offering national touring artists, live performances, and special exhibits around science, technology, and history, the institutions also focus on providing educational programming, both on-site and in the schools, for area students. This grant will provide operating support to the Flint Cultural Center Corporation to maintain its facilities and campus, offer programs and activities that appeal to all segments of the community, and provide free educational and outreach programming for students and seniors.
