About this grant
The Flint Institute of Music has its origin going back to 1917 and offers the community a wide array of music, dance, and theater experiences through the Flint School of Performing Arts, Flint Symphony Orchestra, and Flint Youth Theatre. Annually, more than 270,000 children and adults attend concerts and plays, receive instruction, or participate in other programming, both on campus and through outreach activities. In addition to serving residents of Genesee County, people from throughout mid-Michigan take advantage of its high quality programming and world-class performances. This grant will support ongoing efforts to provide opportunities for people of all ages and income levels to experience live music, dance, and theater performances as well as receive instruction from experienced teachers in these disciplines.
