City Leaders Engaged in Afterschool Reform and a New Day for Learning

About this grant

This grant will support the National League of Cities Institute to engage city officials in afterschool initiatives and highlight the importance of continuing investments in afterschool at the federal, state, and local levels. Specifically, this project will: 1) support statewide afterschool networks in their efforts to engage municipal leaders; 2) develop a research and communications initiative highlighting mayoral voices to feature the importance of afterschool programs at the local level and 21st Century Community Learning Centers funding at the federal level; and 3) continue to raise awareness among municipal leaders of promising practices and city roles in building high quality afterschool and expanded learning systems.
