City Leaders Engaged in Afterschool Reform and a New Day for Learning

About this grant

This grant will support the National League of Cities Institute to engage city officials in afterschool and summer learning initiatives and highlight the importance of continuing support for afterschool programs at the federal, state, and local levels. Specifically, this project will: 1) support statewide afterschool networks in their efforts to engage municipal leaders; 2) expand the National League of Cities Institute’s communications initiatives to connect afterschool programs with the top priorities in cities; 3) continue to raise awareness among municipal leaders of promising practices and city roles in building high quality afterschool and summer learning systems; and 4) elevate and support municipal leaders for city-led community schools’ initiatives as a strategy to increase access to and investments in afterschool.
