About this grant

The program goal is to support social transformation in Ukraine through development of a strong and vibrant civil society. The GURT Resource Center for NGO Development will provide a range of technical assistance, training, and information services to help strengthen nongovernmental organizations throughout Ukraine. Work will focus on enhancing the interactivity and learning functions of its Internet portal. The grantee will also work to foster increasingly productive partnerships between civil society organizations and local governments, while continuing efforts to introduce standards and measures of organizational effectiveness. The grant builds on the grantee’s successful efforts at promoting its information resources, which have seen use of its increasingly sophisticated Internet portal triple in three years. In 2008-2010, the grantee conducted over 200 organizational development, training, and networking activities for beneficiaries throughout Ukraine. Established in 1995, the GURT Resource Center for NGO Development is one of the leading sources of social information and expertise in Ukraine.
