About this grant
This grant will provide continued support to the New World Foundation’s efforts to strengthen the next generation of grantmakers and other philanthropic leaders. The Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy Project addresses the important, previously unmet, professional needs of emerging young grantmakers, particularly those of color. It also helps meet the corresponding need for the foundation field to train and retain well-prepared and diverse new talent. The project’s professional development fund provides scholarships for up to ten emerging grantmakers to attend the same training, education, and networking opportunities often afforded only to more senior staff. A convening of scholarship recipients will allow additional networking opportunities and a forum to share experiences.
