About this grant

The Tides Center provides fiscal sponsorship and essential organizational, financial, and personnel services to over 200 projects working to advance progressive and social change nationwide. This grant will provide support to the Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy Project. With a particular focus on grantmakers of color, the project addresses the professional needs of emerging young professionals in philanthropy. To date, the project’s Professional Development Fund has provided scholarships to 57 emerging grantmakers for training, education, and networking opportunities and its Next Generation Scholarship Fund has enabled 77 diverse emerging leaders to attend the annual Council of Foundations Leadership Summit. During the grant period, the project will award scholarships to emerging professionals, increase the amount of alumni-specific content at convenings, expand awareness of its programs, and increase collaboration with identity-based affinity groups.
