About this grant
The project goal is to support the organizational and programmatic development of a permanent institute for documentation and research of war crimes and human rights abuses in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The mission of the Research and Documentation Center Sarajevo is to investigate and gather facts, documentation, and data about war crimes and human rights abuses during the war in Bosnia. Over the past two years, the grantee has made substantial progress in building up its extensive archive of documentation; organizing, preserving, and making accessible this documentation for researchers, prosecutors, other nongovernmental organizations, victims and their families, and decisionmakers; and supporting efforts to raise public awareness about the past. The grantee is based in Sarajevo and has field offices in Brcko, Gorazde, and Srebrenica.
