About this grant

This grant will enable the American Youth Policy Forum to educate policymakers and community stakeholders about effective policies and practices that reconnect disconnected youth to education and employment opportunities. In the most recent phase of this project, the American Youth Policy Forum focused on documenting dropout recovery efforts in 12 communities that have developed innovative models to reconnect out-of-school youth to education and employment training options. Building on the work completed in the most recent phase of the project, the American Youth Policy Forum will facilitate a series of field trips for local and state leaders to communities implementing systems serving out-of-school youth, provide technical assistance to state and local leaders on expanding options for such youth, and work with a broad range of groups in developing policy priorities and field-building activities to bring more attention to the needs of out-of-school youth.
