About this grant
This grant will enable the American Youth Policy Forum to continue to bring more attention to the issues and challenges of dropouts and disconnected youth. During the most recent phase of this project, the grantee facilitated a series of field trips for local and state leaders to communities implementing efforts to serve dropouts and disconnected youth; provided technical assistance to state and local leaders on expanding educational options for such youth; and worked with a broad range of groups in developing policy priorities and field-building activities that bring more attention to the needs of the target population. In the next phase of this effort, the American Youth Policy Forum will refocus its efforts and place particular emphasis on informing federal stakeholders of specific strategies that result in policy advances and improved opportunities for dropouts and disconnected youth.
