About this grant
This grant provides support to the Workforce Alliance to assist in broad-based efforts to inform policymakers, the media, and the public about the implications of federal proposals to cut funding for key domestic programs and to change budget rules and program structures in a way that leads to even deeper cuts in the future. Mott funds will support communication strategies and, among other staff, the national coordinator who serves as a liaison who connects workforce development organizations to state and national budget advocacy coalitions. The Workforce Alliance is a diverse coalition of experienced leaders from the field of workforce development who advocate for more effective federal polices that help: 1) workers obtain the skills they need to advance; and 2) businesses get the skilled workers they need to compete in today’s economy.
