About this grant
Red Ink Studios is an underground artist movement that transforms underutilized buildings into free studio space for artists. Red Ink Studios – Flint, a project of the Genesee Area Focus Council, is the local replication of this national arts and economic revitalization approach. Since its establishment in 2005, Red Ink Studios – Flint has hosted more than 2,000 visitors to the studios and sold more than $15,000 of art by more than 20 local artists. This grant increase will enable Red Ink Studios – Flint to continue serving as an instrument of economic and community revitalization in Flint.
