About this grant
DOCKDA Rural Development Agency is an intermediary grantmaker that supports community-based organizations in poor communities in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. Over the past two years, the grantee trained community-based organizations to respond to challenges such as the high prevalence of HIV, food security, and gender-based violence. It also provided mentorship support to leaders of these organizations and created opportunities for mutual learning among them. The grantee will continue to develop its knowledge of the social issues it tries to address through staff training; making grants to community-based organizations in the Northern Cape province and supporting their efforts to secure funds from the government and the private sector; and training and mentoring organizations that deliver programs on health and wellness, and gender equality.
