About this grant
The program goal is to promote international private and family philanthropy. To this end, Charities Aid Foundation initiated a program to encourage high net-worth individuals from middle-income countries to become effective philanthropists. Activities include researching private and family giving among high net-worth individuals; working with relevant networks of wealth managers and financial advisors; developing donor-advised funds and support services; and providing technical assistance and advice to donors. In 2006, Charities Aid Foundation concentrated these activities in Russia, Ukraine, Brazil and Mexico, and leveraged over $20 million in new philanthropic assets. Expansion is planned for South Africa, India and China. Mott funds will continue to support the costs of one staff person and travel-related expenses.
