About this grant

The project goal is to increase the level and effectiveness of corporate and individual giving in Central and Eastern Europe. To this end, donors’ fora in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine will continue cooperating within CEENERGI – Central and Eastern European Network for Responsible Giving, which is an informal network of donor associations in the region. Czech Donors Forum will address a number of critical issues associated with corporate giving both at the national and regional levels, including current low levels of corporate contributions to the nonprofit sector and a lack of collaboration between corporate donors and the rest of the philanthropic community. In addition, the grantee will explore ways of encouraging systematic and effective individual giving in the region. In 2008-2009, the grantee produced research on corporate philanthropy, promoted good practice in corporate giving, and provided technical assistance to corporations on their philanthropic programs.
