General Purposes

About this grant

This grant will provide continued general purpose support for GreaterGood South Africa, an organization that connects givers with good causes and promotes responsible giving by the public and the private sector. It uses a Web-based interactive portal site to promote a culture of philanthropy and giving in South Africa. The grantee has successfully connected social investors with the development world in meaningful and innovative ways that strengthen civil society, reduce poverty, promote social justice and equality, and create positive change in communities. Activities over the next two years will include transforming existing platforms into engaging tools and information hubs that South Africans and those wishing to invest in South Africa will find valuable, expanding existing leadership forums to increase knowledge sharing between civil society and corporate South Africa, and continuing to advocate and build the knowledge and practice of social impact investing by strengthening the South African Network for Impact Investing.
