About this grant

Midwest Environmental Advocates, a statewide nonprofit organization working in Wisconsin, partners with communities to ensure long-term protections are in place for the rivers, lakes, and aquifers within the Lake Michigan and Lake Superior watersheds. With prior support, the grantee helped implement the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact, protected ground water resources, and took steps to decrease freshwater contaminants. This renewal will allow the grantee to continue those efforts, while also developing a volunteer network of retired agency experts to assist communities in improving the health of their local rivers, lakes, and aquifers.
