Flint and Genesee County Community Development Project

About this grant

This renewal grant will provide the Flint office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation with funding to continue the work of transforming distressed neighborhoods into livable communities. With a focus on creating sustainable communities, the grantee provides local organizations with technical assistance and local policy assistance as well as loans and grants. During the next year, the grantee will implement a three-year strategic plan and contribute time and resources to support revitalization efforts in the Flint River District and north Flint areas. In addition, the grantee will continue to support the Financial Opportunity Center’s work to help improve Flint residents’ economic resilience and continue to direct resources to build the capacity of community development groups to respond to the Flint water crisis.
