About this grant
Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement is a community organizing group with a 30-year history and a mission to work with Iowans of all ethnic backgrounds, particularly low- and moderate-income families, to provide people with the training and skills to be effective spokespersons for their own issues and concerns. Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement is successfully building an inter-racial, inter-ethnic, urban-rural organization and sharing the experience in training sessions with other community organizing groups around the country. This project will support the organization’s training efforts as well as its work to develop new chapters in selected regions of the state, continue building the relationships between members from urban and rural communities, and build relationships with community organizing groups in neighboring Kansas.
