About this grant
For many decades, low- and moderate-income communities and people of color have worked to improve their neighborhoods and their lives through community organizing. This grant will enable the National Housing Institute to document the history, successes, failures and challenges of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and how it has responded to the economic and social shifts over the past 30 years. The book is part of a larger project at the National Housing Institute, an organization founded in 1975 to research the key issues affecting affordable housing and community development.
