About this grant
The University of Michigan Graduate Real Estate Development Program is a unique academic program focused on “progressive development.” Its goal is to promote alternatives to conventional sprawl-oriented development, including downtown revitalization, New Urbanism, suburban town center development, affordable housing, conservation development, green building, smart growth and regionalism. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the program brings together UM’s graduate schools of business, natural resources and environment, and architecture and urban planning.This grant will support revitalization efforts in downtown Detroit and contribute to efforts to influence policy and practice around urban revitalization in Michigan.
