About this grant
The program goal is to improve the policymaking capacity of Belarus’ independent think tanks and analytical centers, with a focus on enhancing the public policy debate on the future of Belarus and securing a communication platform both among and between these institutions and internationally. This grant will enable the Pontis Foundation to establish a Belarus Standing Conference for Transformation — an independent, civil body enhancing public discussion in the country and increasing attention to Belarus abroad; create a common virtual communication platform, including a quarterly newsletter, a monthly expert panel and a quarterly analytical publication; organize meetings of Belarusian academics, policymakers, journalists and non-governmental organization (NGO) representatives; and provide research and travel grants to Belarusian analysts. The Pontis Foundation works to strengthen the development and long-term financial sustainability of Slovak NGOs; support the development of corporate philanthropy and corporate social responsibility; and promote civil society development in Belarus and other post-communist countries.
