About this grant
This grant will enable Citizen Schools, in partnership with Lesley University School of Education, to develop an online format to enhance national participation in a Master’s Degree in Out-of-School-Time Education and Leadership. The graduate program is designed to create new leadership for the growing afterschool sector by specifically preparing talented and motivated individuals to develop and direct high quality afterschool programs. The broadest impact will be made by modifying the current course to include an online content component. This project will strengthen the overall afterschool field.Citizens Schools, founded in 1995, is a middle school afterschool program based in Boston that blends real-world learning projects with rigorous academic and leadership development activities to prepare students for success in high school, college, the workforce and civic life.
