About this grant
This grant will assist the city of Flint in offering a summer enrichment program to disadvantaged youth ages 5-14. The nine-week summer program entitled Renaissance Project Day Camp will be housed at Haskell Community Center and serve more than 120 youth. Eight youth between the ages of 14-17 will be employed as supervisors and mentors. Academic services will include art and reading, math, writing tutorials. Participants also will enjoy travel experiences, cultural visits, and daily breakfast and lunch.The city of Flint, founded in 1855, has been a grantee of the Foundation since 1937.
