About this grant
This grant will continue to support the National Center for Summer Learning at Johns Hopkins University to develop summer learning opportunities for young people by ensuring that summer learning is integrated into efforts to redesign systems of teaching and learning. This grant will allow the center to provide technical assistance to communities with an interest and capacity for including summer as a stronger part of a comprehensive, 12-month vision for expanding learning opportunities for young people. To accomplish these objectives, the center will engage school systems, the afterschool community, and municipal leadership in reinventing summer school, and will support the New Day for Learning demonstration sites and public awareness campaign.
