About this grant
The National Center for Family Philanthropy promotes philanthropic values, vision, and excellence across generations of donors and donor families. The grantee ensures that family donors and their advisors have access to the highest quality information and the encouragement needed to articulate, pursue, and achieve their charitable missions; understand and meet their governance and management needs; and have a significant, positive impact on the lives and work of those they support. Since 1997, the grantee has done this through conducting research, developing and providing knowledge resources, training, and consulting on family philanthropy issues. During 2014-15, the grantee will expand the public’s understanding of and appreciation for family philanthropy by launching a research initiative in partnership with the Urban Institute investigating five key research topics; host a biannual convening for up to 250 family philanthropists; enhance the practice of family philanthropy, helping families to be more effective and achieve greater impact; and understand and meet the needs of giving families.
