About this grant

Michigan Television, WFUM-TV, is a nonprofit public television station based at the University of Michigan-Flint. Despite its digital broadcasting capacity, Michigan Television is hampered by its operation from two separate locations. Since 2002, the studios, administrative offices and most of the staff have been located in the William S. White Building on the Flint campus of the University of Michigan. However, master control operations are still located in the station’s former facilities on the Mott Community College campus. The purpose of this grant is to facilitate the reunion of Michigan Television’s broadcast operations center with the rest of the station and to support the replacement of the station’s remote master control equipment with state-of-the-art digital equipment that will enable Michigan Television to fulfill federally mandated regulations and realize greater operating efficiency.
