About this grant
This grant to the West Virginia University Research Corporation will support the development of the West Virginia Statewide Afterschool Network to expand quality afterschool services for children, youth, and families throughout West Virginia. This grantee is part of the fifth cohort of Mott-funded, statewide afterschool networks. This renewal grant will continue to provide core support to the network, while also encouraging new ideas designed to build or enhance positive systemic changes that further policies and practices for school-based/school-linked afterschool programs. In addition to continuing its work in building the field of afterschool in West Virginia, the grantee will improve the academic enrichment and reinforcement capabilities of program staff to build high quality skills during afterschool hours that will help students learn and achieve. The network will share lessons learned and products with the national network of statewide afterschool networks.
