About this grant
This grant will support the University of California – Davis, in partnership with the California Department of Education, in an effort to provide information and technical assistance to new afterschool grantees in the state of California. This work is based on the projected dramatic increase in the number of publicly funded afterschool programs as a result of Proposition 49. Proposition 49, along with other state and federal funding sources, will raise the level of support for afterschool programs in the state to approximately $700 million. This grant will support 11 regional orientation conferences that will provide state grantees with information regarding program quality, evaluation and fiscal requirements. Regional orientations will be a coordinated effort by the California Department of Education, the California Afterschool Network, and the state-legislated California Advisory Committee on Before and Afterschool Programs.
