About this grant
CFLeads (formerly the Coalition of Community Foundations for Youth) aims to build the leadership capacity of community foundations grounded in values of equity and inclusion, with particular emphasis on racial and ethnic diversity. CFLeads’ main programmatic activity during the grant period will be to work with and through the Council on Foundations’ Community Foundation Leadership Team to foster community leadership among community foundations. This work will involve the creation and management of a National Task Force on Community Leadership, as well as the launching of two regional leadership networks composed of 10-15 community foundations each. CFLeads is in the process of creating an alliance with Stanford University’s John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities. General purposes funding will help CFLeads to implement this alliance and to build institutional capacity for a more robust focus on community leadership.
