About this grant
Based on a variety of conversations and initiatives currently under way, the field of philanthropy appears to have renewed interest in tackling the question of how to increase diversity and inclusion within philanthropy. The diversity “challenge” for foundations includes both attracting a diverse talent pool to consider a career in philanthropy rather than the private sector, and fully including the voices and perspectives of that diverse talent pool in the decisionmaking of philanthropy. The proposed program, a project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, will scan the field in order to identify, describe, and assess existing resources for supporting and training diverse staff in philanthropy, as well as seek resources that help organizations more effectively understand and utilize diverse perspectives.
