Community Schools Quality Partnership

About this grant

The project goal is to strengthen the development of community schools in Central/Eastern Europe and Russia. To this end, the Ukrainian Step by Step Foundation will lead a project to define and apply quality standards in teaching, participation, and outreach with a group of regional partners. Standards will draw on the differing experiences and approaches of community education practice in Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, and the Czech Republic, as well as the United Kingdom. This variety will encourage the creation of robust, yet flexible, standards responsive to the evolving priorities of participating schools as community education expands in the project countries. Project outcomes will be valuable both for those schools wishing to adopt the community school model and for those already experienced and wishing to improve their capacities in key areas. The Ukrainian Step by Step Foundation was created as an independent foundation in 1999 with the aim of facilitating educational development and innovative educational initiatives in Ukraine.
