About this grant
This grant will renew operating support for the ongoing redevelopment efforts of the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation in downtown Flint. The Uptown Reinvestment Corporation and its supporting organization, the Foundation for the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, have been leaders in efforts to revitalize Flint’s downtown district. Their work has focused on redeveloping downtown properties for residential and commercial reuse, attracting new employers to downtown Flint, and creating and enhancing community amenities for public use. The grant will support technical assistance by loaned staff who will facilitate the charitable purposes and functions of the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, as well as costs for office rental and contracted accounting services.
