About this grant
The Genesee Chamber Foundation is a supporting organization of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce organized to receive and administer funds for educational and charitable purposes and the public welfare of Genesee County, Michigan. This grant to the Genesee Chamber Foundation will support the launch of a Job Creation Loan Fund, which will help generate employment opportunities for displaced workers in the greater Flint community. Initially, and with certain conditions, the grantee will provide a forgivable, ten-year loan to an organization to be formed for the development of a national customer service center in Flint. The center will provide support to customers of ParkingCarma, a computerized parking guidance service. It is anticipated the center could produce about 150 jobs and enhance the county’s image in economic development circles.
