About this grant

The Ohio Environmental Council is a statewide environmental organization that leads efforts to protect and restore Lake Erie and its tributaries. The grantee provides scientific, legal, and policy analyses and technical assistance to citizens, nonprofits, and decision makers. With prior Mott support, the grantee has helped implement the Great Lakes Compact, prevent invasive species, and address toxic algal blooms in Lake Erie while also addressing its own organizational development needs. With renewed Mott support, the grantee will continue these efforts, with an increased focus on integrated water management and development of local leadership capacity.
