About this grant
This grant will enable the Intercultural Development Research Association to continue its work in building the capacity of African-American and Latino communities in the South and Southwest on key education issues. During the most recent phase of this project, the grantee facilitated a series of cross-race dialogues in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi to create a common discourse between black and Latino stakeholders on increasing access and opportunities to graduation pathways for minority students. In the next phase of this effort, the grantee will leverage and scale up its work nationally via hosting regional convenings and developing Web-based resources that provide a model for cross-race dialogue and action on improving the educational achievement of minority and low-income students.
