About this grant

Through its Opening Career Pathways project, this grant will enable YouthBuild USA to align education strategies with sectoral workforce preparation strategies. YouthBuild USA provides low-income youth between the ages of 16-24 with opportunities to work toward a GED or a high school diploma, learn job skills to serve their communities by building affordable housing, and transform their lives and roles in society. Through the Opening Career Pathways project, YouthBuild will work with ten sites in its network to strengthen, document, and replicate effective career development strategies where vulnerable youth can gain access to education and career opportunities that lead to economic self-sufficiency. Recommended support will provide 975 students across the YouthBuild USA network with opportunities to transition into post-secondary education and training opportunities and career pathways in high growth and high demand industries. This grant will support the planning and initial implementation phase.
