About this grant
BoardSource is a national organization that seeks to increase the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations by strengthening their boards of directors. Through the Building Nonprofit Leadership Initiative, BoardSource, in partnership with the United Way of Genesee County, brings national experience, as well as promising practices and emerging trends in nonprofit governance, to Flint and Genesee County. Goals for the initiative include leveraging community networks to inspire potential board leaders; preparing candidates for and connecting them to board service opportunities; educating boards in recruitment best practices; providing individualized support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations; and providing ongoing educational resources and training for nonprofit leaders.
