About this grant
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan launched the New Economy Initiative to speed the transition of Southeast Michigan to the new knowledge-based economy. Since its inception in 2007, this philanthropic collaborative has made grants and investments to support economic development infrastructure, innovative enterprises, and educational programs that prepare adults for the new economy. Renewal grant funds will support the initiative’s second phase, which will focus more tightly on creating new enterprises, attracting capital, and generating jobs through innovation and entrepreneurship.
