About this grant
Following Ray Murphy’s untimely death in March 2007, Philanthropy Ireland created the Ray Murphy Memorial Lecture Series. Commencing in early 2008, the lecture series has consisted of an annual lecture delivered by an international leader in philanthropy. To date, the grantee has organized five Ray Murphy lectures, and this increase will extend the series through 2018. The lecture series targets key figures in the international and Irish philanthropic communities. In addition to recognizing Murphy’s role as a pioneer in the philanthropy field, the lecture series encourages the further development of philanthropy in Ireland through exposure to current trends in international philanthropy. Created in 2003, Philanthropy Ireland is an association of charitable trusts, foundations, and corporations in Ireland.
