About this grant

The program goal is to empower Romanian citizens and communities to exercise their rights and responsibilities. To this end, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux in Romania will improve its information and advice services to members and nonmembers, develop new services related to community development, raise the profile of citizen counseling, and advocate for improvements in government policies regarding access to information on citizens’ rights in Romania. In addition, the grantee will increase its organizational capacity, strengthen its financial sustainability, and improve its visibility vis-à-vis public institutions and the general public. Based in Bucharest, Romania, the grantee was established in 2002 and currently has 37 members. In the past two years the grantee provided capacity building programs to its members, strengthened its communication and fundraising strategies, and explored possibilities to establish citizen advice bureaux in the Western Balkans.
