About this grant
The program goal is to build the capacity of informal groups, grassroots nonprofit organizations, and community enterprises in southern Romania to engage in the development of their communities. To this end, PACT – Partnership for Community Action and Transformation Foundation will provide training, field consultancy, small grants, and networking opportunities to grassroots organizations whose activities address the local needs of marginalized groups. In addition, the foundation will provide training and facilitation services to initiative groups in southern Romania interested in developing community foundations. The foundation will document and share its experience in community and social economy development nationally and internationally. In 2007-2009, the foundation strengthened the capacity of 32 community groups to develop and implement successful community projects, build coalitions, and mobilize local resources. Established in 2006, the foundation is based in Bucharest, Romania.
