About this grant

The program goal is to galvanize emerging leaders to solve critical global challenges. In 2008, the EastWest Institute created the Global Leadership Consortium, a network of independent policy institutions from around the world. The institute recruited internationally renowned players to participate in the network; convened consortium members to plan their mission, agenda, and action items; and initiated "Global Lens", an online publication to present an international exchange of views on critical global security events and issues. In the upcoming grant period, the consortium will address human sustainability and security, preventive diplomacy, and global governance through: a monthly online publication, "Global Lens"; researching and developing breakthrough solutions on security issues through the collaborative work of international task forces and working groups; and convening consortium members and other thought leaders. Founded in 1980, EastWest Institute is an international, nonpartisan organization with centers in Brussels, New York, and Moscow.
