About this grant

The project goal is to strengthen the community foundation field in Slovakia. During the grant period, the Association of Slovak Community Foundations will improve its current services for members, develop new services, promote community foundations as vehicles for community development in Slovakia, and carry out a thorough strategic planning process for the future financial sustainability of the association and its members. The association was established in 2003 with the mission to develop the community foundation field in Slovakia, strengthen the capacity of its members, and represent Slovak community foundations at national and international levels. Currently, the association has 12 members that serve about 40 percent of the territory of Slovakia. Since 1994, when the first Slovak community foundations were established, the association’s members have awarded more than 3,500 grants totaling $1.5 million.
