About this grant

The Center for Responsible Lending is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and policy organization dedicated to protecting homeownership and family wealth by working to eliminate abusive financial practices. The grantee has worked with industry participants including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to reform practices; the U.S. Department of Defense to ban payday lending to military personnel; community-based organizations to assist families facing foreclosure; and advocacy groups to modify state policies and regulations. The grant will provide partial support to an initiative to reach out to community leaders in selected states to provide research and training for community leaders and policymakers in order to assist existing borrowers and implement lending standards.
