About this grant
The Michigan Land Use Institute works to strengthen Michigan’s urban and rural communities by engaging the public and informing decisionmakers through a combination of research and public outreach. With prior Mott support, the grantee has provided education, strategic communications, and technical support to encourage broad-based citizen input into development of the Grand Vision, a regional land-use and transportation framework to guide future growth in the six-county area surrounding Traverse City. With renewed support, the grantee will focus its efforts on implementing the transportation elements of the Grand Vision and participate in related state-level policy reform efforts.
