About this grant
The Council of Michigan Foundations is a membership association comprised of more than 350 foundations and grantmaking corporations. Since 2001, and as a strategy to help fulfill its mission of enhancing, improving, and increasing philanthropy, the council has worked to advance diversity and inclusion throughout the philanthropic sector. This renewal grant will support the second year of the council’s five-year Transforming Philanthropy Through Diversity and Inclusion project. Building on the research, planning, and development accomplished during the previous grant period, the council will increase diversity and inclusion within its own organization, disseminate diversity-related research findings, launch a networking/social learning Web site, hold a symposium on social equity and philanthropy, and implement a youth internship and executive fellowship program.
