About this grant
The Flint River Watershed Coalition was incorporated in 1998 and works to protect the Flint River, its shoreline, and connected tributaries. The Flint River is an important resource for the region’s residents, freshwater species, and other wildlife. With prior Mott support, the grantee conducted education and outreach efforts with an emphasis on building public support for restoring the downtown section of the Flint River. With renewed general purpose support, the grantee will continue to engage in riverfront development planning and implementation, operate youth and adult environmental education programs, and conduct its own organizational assessment to improve its capacity to protect the Flint River watershed.
