About this grant
This renewal grant will allow Genesee County Habitat for Humanity to complete the third phase of a housing development project. Over the past two years, the organization collaborated with neighborhood-based groups, nonprofit housing agencies, and local units of government to construct 15 new and rehabilitated homes in the Grand Traverse neighborhood. Each partner family selected for a home is required to provide 250 hours of sweat equity, and every home will be Energy Star certified. Since 1990, Genesee County Habitat for Humanity has built 60 homes in Genesee County.
