About this grant

The Family Service Agency of Mid Michigan was founded in 1945 with a grant from the Junior League of Flint and the Council of Social Agencies. In 2007, the agency merged with the Visually Impaired Center to better serve low-income families in Genesee County. The Family Service Agency of Mid Michigan offers children and family services, in-home eldercare, legal guardianship, Social Security representative payee services, and services for the visually impaired. These populations, which are among the community’s most vulnerable, are growing in size, and services for them are desperately needed. As a result of the recent merger with the Visually Impaired Center, the agency now owns a building which is in an ideal location, but needs considerable renovation in order to be suitable for its needs. This grant will assist with renovations and associated building costs in order for the Family Service Agency of Mid Michigan to better serve its clients.
